3DOE eMat460 Plantar Gait Analyzer Related Parameters and Applications

2026-04-09

‍The 3DOE eMat460 Plantar Gait Analyzer is a portable plantar pressure distribution system independently developed by 3DOE.

It uses array pressure sensors to collect real-time pressure distribution of various parts of the plantar and relevant gait data when a person stands or walks over it.

The main measured data include: pressure of the whole foot, contact area of the entire plantar, pressure ratio of the forefoot and hindfoot, average pressure and high-pressure points, step deviation angle, contact area, maximum pressure and average pressure of the forefoot, judgment of flat feet and high arches, heel angle, heel width and contact area, average pressure and maximum pressure of the heel, judgment of heel type and lower leg type, pressure and contact area of ten characteristic regions, pressure intensity of ten characteristic regions, length of center of gravity trajectory and basic support area, center of gravity velocity and swing curve, trajectory diagram of plantar pressure line, gait curve analysis, data table of stress change over time at characteristic positions of left/right foot, stress time analysis at characteristic positions, foot length, foot width and shoe size recommendation, etc.

The eMat460 has three measurement modes, namely static measurement, balance measurement and dynamic measurement.

During static measurement and balance measurement, the subject only needs to stand naturally and relaxedly in the sensing area on the pressure plate, and the complete measurement can be finished in about 10 seconds.

For dynamic measurement, it is necessary to walk back and forth 2-3 times through the sensing area on the pressure plate, and the whole measurement process takes about 20-30 seconds.

Different measurement modes should be selected for different application scenarios, and some scenarios require a combination of static and dynamic measurements.

The eMat is a portable model, weighing 3.1kg, with dimensions of 480mm in length, 460mm in width and 5.5mm in thickness. The number of sensors is 5760, with a sensor density of 4 sensors/cm². The portable model is easy to carry around, especially suitable for on-site measurement and evaluation services.

The data measured by this device are often applied in diabetic foot assessment, elderly fall risk assessment, foot health evaluation such as flat feet and high arches, design and production of orthotic insoles, sports rehabilitation optimization, biomechanical research, school foot screening, diagnosis of foot problems in hospital rehabilitation departments, preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation evaluation and program formulation, etc.
