How to operate the 3DOE plantar pressure distribution system?

2026-03-05

The plantar pressure distribution system of 3DOE adopts a high-density array of sensors placed inside the pressure plate, which can collect in real time the pressure distribution of various parts of the sole and gait-related data such as the center of gravity trajectory when a person stands still or walks on the sensing area of the pressure plate.

So, how is this plantar pressure distribution system operated?

1. Before measurement, first check the normal operation of the equipment. First connect the power supply, check whether the computer is running normally, whether the software is normal, whether the USB and other data cables are normal, and whether the data is normal. If there is any abnormality, calibration should be carried out first. Only after everything is completely normal can the operation proceed normally.

If a large amount of data collection is required, before collecting the data, and before measurement each day, the staff should first check the equipment to ensure that the data measured by the equipment is normal and there are no abnormalities.

If any abnormality is found, it should be calibrated or repaired in time.

2. Perform static measurement.

During static measurement, the subject should keep the body relaxed and natural, look straight ahead, and not deliberately maintain a certain posture, just like standing upright naturally in daily life.

Then the staff will click the start measurement on the computer software, and the subject only needs to stand still. This process only takes about 20 seconds to complete the data collection.

2. Balance measurement.

During balance measurement, the subject can also stand naturally as in the static measurement, and then the staff clicks start on the software.

Then the pressure plate will collect the data, and the whole process also only takes about 20 seconds to complete the measurement.

Of course, in some scenarios the subject needs to stand with eyes closed for measurement, which depends on the specific data requirements.

3. Dynamic measurement.

When performing dynamic measurement, we need to walk back and forth on the walkway for 2–3 rounds, with the left foot and right foot each stepping on the sensing area of the pressure plate 2–3 times. Then the software will collect, analyze, and calculate the data. The entire measurement process generally takes about 20–40 seconds to complete.

After the measurement is completed, the measurement report can be exported through the software on the computer.

These measurement reports can be applied to the design of corrective insoles, and can also be applied in foot rehabilitation assessment and sports rehabilitation fields.
