The key role of plantar pressure plates in insole design

2025-02-21

In the design of corrective insoles, plantar pressure plates play a key role. The specific process is as follows:

Data collection: Use plantar pressure plates to collect the pressure distribution of individual feet. This device supports three modes of measurement: static measurement, dynamic measurement and balance measurement. For insole design, static measurement is usually sufficient. Through this data, several important parameters can be analyzed, such as high-pressure and low-pressure areas on the sole, uneven force, arch type (normal, flat foot or high arch), standing posture and gait characteristics.

Formulate correction plan: Professional designers plan correction plans based on the above data and combined with biomechanical principles. This includes determining the hardness level of the insole, the location of the cushioning area, the setting of support points, additional arch support, and orthopedic adjustments for specific areas.

3D modeling and design: Use 3D scanning technology to obtain the specific dimensions of the foot and transfer these data to professional insole design software. Designers customize the insoles in the software according to the established correction plan, such as adjusting the height and shape of the arch support, increasing the arch height, and adapting the insole style to different shoe types.

Manufacturing: After the design is completed, the 3D model is imported into a 3D printer or engraving machine to make the insole. After that, it needs to go through fine processing steps such as polishing and veneer to ensure the quality of the final product.

Trying on and optimizing: The last step is to let users try on the newly made insoles, and further adjust and optimize them based on their feedback to ensure comfortable wearing and achieve the ideal correction effect. This process aims to continuously improve until the personalized needs of users are met.
